Beveren vs Oud-Heverlee

Waasland Beveren are one of the most out of form sides in the Belgian Pro League at the moment, and they will be desperately hoping that a win against fellow relegation rivals Oud-Heverlee can put them back on the right track.

They have lost six of their last nine matches in all competitions and only managed to secure victory once.

It doesn’t get any better on home turf either for Beveren. They have only won one of their last eight home fixtures and have been on the wrong end of a winning scoreline on five occasions.

This unsurprisingly has them struggling in the Belgian Pro League. They narrowly avoided relegation last season, and now they find themselves in the same battle. They sit in 13^th position and only have a three point cushion over bottom of the table Westerlo.

Oud-Heverlee’s league position is marginally worse. They occupy one of the relegation playoff positions and are only one point off the bottom of the table.

The visitors are in slightly better form than the hosts though. Oud-Heverlee have only lost two of their last seven outings in the Pro League and have managed to pick up 11 points from a possible 21 during this period.

All of their three victories came on home turf though, and away from home the best they have managed is a draw. Their last two away games have both ended all square, which will be a relief considering they had suffered five straight defeats before this.

Oud-Heverlee have won three of their last five matches against Beveren, with Beveren taking the three points in the remaining two matches.

Both sides possess quite a poor defence at the moment, with this resulting in a fair few goalfests. Beveren have seen three or more goals scored in all but one of their last five matches whilst Oud-Heverlee have in five of their last seven.

This makes odds of 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals look good value to me, and I’m also going for a 2-1 Beveren win at 17/2.
