      Birmingham vs Rotherham Predictions

The visitors picked up their first win of the season last weekend with a 2-1 win against Cardiff in South Yorkshire. They are still rooted to the foot of the table but there will be an air of positivity in the Millers camp as they head to the Second City on Saturday.

The hosts come in off the disappointment of losing against Birmingham rivals Aston Villa on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup. They in no way disgraced themselves in the game and will be eager to get back to winning ways in the league on Saturday and they have started very well overall.

Goals certainly seem likely here. Rotherham’s continued positivity has to be admired despite a host of less than encouraging results. With a win under their belt they’ll attack this game too and given both teams have scored in all but one of their 8 Championship matches so far, you’d say it’s highly likely to be the case again here against a Blues side that has scored and conceded in 7 of their last 9 home games in the league.

Therefore it’s certainly worth considering backing both teams to score in this match and you can do that at odds of 8/11.

If you’re looking for a correct score bet then there may well be a bit of value in backing Rotherham to cause a bit of a shock here. They’ve had a week free to prepare to the game as opposed to Birmingham who sent out their strongest side in a high-tempo local derby in midweek. The hosts are perhaps a side more suited to the underdog tag and have flourished under Gary Rowett having become something of a laughing stock under the previous regime when they once went 18 home games without a win in the Championship.

Now they’ve started to pick up results, suddenly the expectation levels rise and at home to the bottom side all the pressure will be on them to go out and win, which won’t be easy against the Millers, who will come bouncing into this game having won last weekend. They always possess a threat and at 12/1 look decent value to record a 2-1 win here.
