Blackburn Rovers vs QPR Predictions
Both sides changed their managers in the first half of the season with Paul Lambert coming in for Gary Bowyer at Blackburn while Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink replaced Chris Ramsey at Loftus Road. It is Lambert who has made the better start but his Ewood revolution has hit choppy waters in recent weeks.
Having won 3 of his first 4 matches in charge and not lost any of his opening 5, Blackburn have suffered 3 consecutive defeats although all three games were on the road and this will be their first match on home soil since mid December after the postponement of their Boxing Day clash with Middlesbrough.
Goals have been their biggest problem and they haven’t scored in any of their last 4 games and their 1-0 win against Rotherham prior to that was courtesy of an own goal so you have to go back to early December and the 2-0 win over Bristol City for the last time a Blackburn player netted. They don’t concede many either though and all of their 3 recent defeats were by 1-0 scorelines.
QPR are yet to win in 7 outings under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and already the Dutchman may be feeling under some pressure. The West Londoners are in 16th place in the Championship, which is nowhere near good enough for a side that was in the top flight last season and any promotion prospects already appear to have faded.
They are also struggling to score many goals and have only managed to score 8 times in their last 13 matches and have only managed more than 1 goal on 1 occasion during that period, which is a bit of a mystery given they still have some talented players in their squad.
It’s hard to see many goals here with both teams struggling in the final third. Both teams have scored in none of Blackburn’s last 6 matches and at 4/6 you can back that to be the case again here.
With home advantage Rovers are the more likely winners though. They have only lost 1 of their last 10 games at Ewood Park and are unbeaten and have only let in 5 goals in that period. Therefore consider backing Lambert’s men to seal a 1-0 victory here at 5/1.
