Bohemians vs Shelbourne Predictions
- Bohemians won just one of their last five league games.
- Shelbourne are unbeaten in two thirds of their away league games this season.
- Only two sides conceded fewer away league goals than Shelbourne’s eight.
A scrappy mid-table encounter
With the rest of the league detached from the bottom-two, these sides have no immediate relegation worries despite being placed in the bottom half. However, a positive result for either could prove to be a catalyst to better things, though hosts Bohemians will have to end a rotten run of one win from five to do so.
One of the major contributing factors to Bohemians’ struggles this term has been their inability to maintain a strong start, they failed to win nine of their last 14 league games in which they took a lead at any stage this season (W5, D7, L2).
Those seven draws factor into their league-high return of eight stalemates, suggesting this could be yet another tight encounter. Welcoming a typically strong travelling Shelbourne side may not be ideal then, as Damien Duff’s men are unbeaten in six of their nine league trips (W4, D2), suggesting that their long price could provide value.
Going against the grain
While Bohemians enter this as odds-on favourites, we predict that the value lies in backing the visitors in the double chance market. However, we think this will be an incredibly tight clash, which is why we are sticking with a 1-1 draw in the correct score market.
