      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Under 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in all three meetings between these sides last season and given Bologna have failed to score in three of their last five home league games and Lazio were the lowest scorers in Serie A’s top 12 last term, this match should follow a similar pattern.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Two of last season’s three meetings ended 1-1 and given there is not much to separate the sides in terms of quality, and both lacked a cutting edge in the final third last season, another low-scoring share appeals.

      Bologna vs Lazio Predictions

      • Under 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in all three meetings between these sides last season
      • Lazio were the lowest scorers of any team to finish in the top 12 of Serie A in 2025-26
      • Bologna have failed to score in three of their last five home matches in Serie A

Tedesco hoping for better start than Gattuso

Bologna will begin life under new head coach Domenico Tedesco when they welcome Lazio to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Monday in what could be a cagey start to the Serie A season for both sides.

Lazio have already played once this season, but it ended in defeat as they were dumped out of the Coppa Italia following a 2-0 loss to second-tier Mantova at the Stadio Olimpico.

That marked a disastrous start to life at Lazio for Gennaro Gattuso, whose side lacked a cutting edge in the final third after hitting the target with just three of their 21 efforts towards goal.

Both sides have lacked attacking spark

Lazio’s lack of spark against Mantova was no surprise, as their tally of 41 goals in Serie A last season was the lowest of any team to finish in the top 12 and was matched by 16th-placed Genoa.

Bologna were not exactly prolific either in 2025-26, failing to score in three of their final five home matches in Serie A, while it was Lazio who had the measure of things when the pair met, going unbeaten in all three of last season’s head-to-heads in league or cup.

Those three meetings had something else in common as well; they all featured fewer than three goals, a trend that looks set to continue on Monday.
