      Tip Reasoning

Bordeaux started the new campaign with a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Reims, and have continued in this vein in the domestic realm.

They drew at Saint Etienne the following weekend, and then managed a Europa League qualification victory over Kairat before drawing again at Lille.

A loss to Kairat in the second leg of their tie saw them progress thanks to away goals, and then they finally managed to get a victory in the league with a 2-0 win over Nantes.

It seemed that their fortunes were finally turning around, and they continued it with an impressive 2-2 draw in the French capital when they played Paris Saint Germain.

Liverpool have had it the other way round. They began the season with back to back victories against Stoke and Bournemouth, although their 1-0 wins weren’t entirely convincing.

They then managed to secure a goalless draw at the Emirates against Arsenal, but after that their vulnerabilities have been exposed.

They hosted West Ham shortly before the international break and came away reeling from a 3-0 defeat thanks to a shocking defensive performance. This was the first time West Ham had won at Anfield since the 1960s.

A trip to their age old rivals Manchester United came next, and the Old Trafford contingent exposed their defence just as West Ham did, coming away with a 3-1 victory.

Bordeaux seem to be the team in the ascendancy here, with Liverpool coming into this game on the back of two heavy defeats that will hurt a lot.

If I were to back either team to win it, I would go for a Bordeaux win at 9/5 with bet365. These look like excellent odds, and an Under 2.5 Goals bet at 13/20 also looks good considering neither team have been particularly successful in front of goal this season.
