Brentford vs Bristol City Betting Tips & Predictions

It has been a good few weeks for both of these clubs as they have picked up some big wins to move themselves up the table. Few were more impressive that Bristol City’s 4-1 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday at Ashton Gate last weekend. The Robins were 4-0 up within the hour against promotion chasing Wednesday and those points have all but guaranteed their status in this league for another season. Bristol City have won 7 of their last 12 Championship games having won just 5 times all season prior to that and they could mathematically guarantee their safety with a win at Brentford depending on the results of the bottom three.

Brentford have already done that after a 3 match winning streak that has seen them beat Forest, Bolton and Ipswich and score 3 goals in each game. They are playing the enterprising football that had deserted them for a couple of months and are defending better too and with a game in hand on the sides above them they could yet finish the season in the top half again which wouldn’t be a disaster by any means given there has been a fair amount of turmoil at Griffin Park this season.

This has the makings of a good game. Both teams like to play football and are in good form. The pressure is off both sides now as even Bristol City have almost certainly got enough points already to stay up and they’ll be confident of picking up more in any case. There have been over 2.5 goals in 10 of Brentford’s last 11 matches and in 5 of Bristol City’s last 6 so certainly there looks to be great value in backing there to be over 2.5 goals at 8/11 in this one.
