Derby are without a win in 8 league matches and have slipped away from automatic promotion contention and into 6th place. Paul Clement has been replaced by Darren Wassall as manager but the new man got off to a nightmare start by losing 1-0 at home to struggling MK Dons last weekend.
This isn’t a bad time to be playing Brentford though who are struggling to cope after a couple of major January departures. The Bees have lost their last two matches 3-0 and 4-0 and they haven’t won at Griffin Park since before Christmas.
Reason for Betting Tips
Derby’s poor form makes it very hard to understand why they are odds on to win this match. Brentford might not be playing brilliant football right now either but there is enough quality in their side to suggest they can get a result and you can back them to do that by punting for a Brentford Double Chance at 8/13.
All competitions, most recent first:
Brentford won 2-1 last season when Derby visited Griffin Park for the first time in the Championship. Since then they have played twice at the iPro with Derby winning one and drawing the other.
Derby have scored an average of just 1.07 goals per game on the road this season which isn’t really good enough for a side that is aiming for automatic promotion. Both teams have scored in 60% of the matches at Griffin Park this season in the league.
Brentford: Without the suspended Yoann Barbet, who saw red after just 6 minutes at Hillsborough last weekend.
Derby: Chris Baird has re-joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season so won’t feature and new boss Wassall has indicated he could ring the changes here after last weekend’s defeat with places up for grabs.
