- Griffin Park
- Brentford have won six of their last seven league games at Griffin Park (L1).
- The Bees have lost just one of their last 14 home starts, winning nine.
- Stoke have lost their last two away trips and are without a win in eight league games on the road (D6, L2).
Brentford to Back up Midweek Win
Brentford breathed a sigh of relief in midweek as they ended their mini rot in style against Sheffield Wednesday and the Bees can follow-up on Saturday against a Stoke side without a win in eight on the road (D6, L2).
After a disastrous run of three straight defeats, it really was a must win affair for Brentford in midweek when they entertained second bottom Sheffield Wednesday at Griffin Park. The Bees obliged and emerged comfortable 3-0 victors at full time, though their grasp on second place is no stronger following wins for Swansea and Watford on the same night.
Nonetheless, success over the Owls will have been a real confidence booster for Thomas Franke’s side and we can perhaps expect them to return to their old-selves again. The Bees racked up a 21 match unbeaten sequence prior to their defeat against Barnsley and they’ll probably need to string another decent run together in the run-in to fend off the challengers.
Franke’s side are a shade of odds-on for Saturday’s clash against Stoke and that looks a good price all things considered. The Bees have won six of their last seven league matches here, while the Potters have lost their last two away trips and are without a victory on their travels since the beginning of December.
The visitors have also drawn a blank in five of their ten outings on the road, so we’re predicting a 2-0 correct score alongside our main tip for a home win.
