- The last two league meetings between these two clubs have seen both teams score
- Both teams have scored in four of Brest’s and five of Nantes’ last six fixtures
- Brest have drawn three of their last five matches, all of which have produced under 2.5 goals
Brest and Nantes to cancel one another out
Brest made it three games unbeaten as they claimed a 2-1 win away at Saint-Etienne last time out, while Nantes boosted their chances of avoiding relegation with a 2-1 win of their own at Strasbourg. The visitors certainly need the 3pts more than their hosts as Brest have now hit the magic 40pt mark, while Nantes remain 4pts adrift from safety.
Nantes ran out 3-1 winners when they played host to Brest earlier in the campaign and the pair drew 1-1 the last time Brest had the home advantage. So with both teams scoring in each of the last two meetings between these two clubs and four of the host’s and five of the visitor’s last six outings ending with both teams find the back of the net, you can see why we’re not expecting any clean sheets on Sunday.
Neither of these sides can claim to be in good form and with three of Brest’s last five matches ending in stalemates, a draw might well be the most obvious choice for an end result this weekend.
We’re predicting that both teams will score on Sunday and have backed a final scoreline of 1-1. each of Brest’s last three draws have produced under 2.5 goals and the most recent two of those stalemates have ended in the same 1-1 scoreline. Brest don’t have as much motivation for the points as their guests but Nantes haven’t won many games this season.
