Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Arsenal will be keen to avoid an upset and continue their title charge at Brighton but the Seagulls have picked up form, winning their last two, and can trouble the Premier League leaders. The Gunners have gone four league games without a clean sheet and both teams to score should land for the fourth time in five head-to-heads.

Arsenal 2-1

Reason for tip

While Brighton may have enough to find the net, they are unlikely to emulate last season’s 1-1 draw with the Gunners. Arsenal were not at their best in Sunday’s 2-1 win with Chelsea but they found a way over the line thanks to some excellent set-pieces and a competitive approach. They can replicate that scoreline on the south coast.

Viktor Gyokeres To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Viktor Gyokeres spent three years at Brighton as a youngster and he will be out to hurt his former employers, who may be starting to regret letting him leave for Coventry in 2021. The Swede loves playing weaker sides, scoring nine of his ten Premier League goals against sides in the bottom half, and should make his mark at the Amex.

Brighton vs Arsenal Predictions

  • Mid-table Brighton have won their last two games while Premier League leaders Arsenal are unbeaten in nine
  • The Gunners have gone four Premier League matches without a clean sheet
  • Both teams to score has landed in three of the last four head-to-heads

Leaders looking to extend unbeaten run

Premier League table-toppers Arsenal restored their five-point advantage over Manchester City with Sunday’s 2-1 derby defeat of Chelsea but with their title rivals having a game in hand and an April trip to the Etihad to come, Mikel Arteta’s side cannot afford to let up.

The Gunners slipped up twice last month, drawing with both Brentford and Wolves before routing Tottenham 4-1, and City fans will be hoping the north Londoners suffer the same fate at Brighton on Wednesday.

There is substance to that wish, too, as Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at the Amex last season put a major dent in their title hopes and while they may not drop points this time, the Gunners seem to have lost their famed resilience and the Seagulls should give them a scare.

Seagulls should play their part in south-coast spectacle

A 3-0 win over Slavia Prague on November 4 gave Arsenal their eighth straight clean sheet but mistakes are beginning to creep in at the back as the title race heats up, with Arteta’s once impenetrable side going for Premier League games without a clean sheet.

Couple that with the fact Brighton have picked up some form and both teams to score looks a likely winner at the Amex.

The Seagulls had begun to creep towards the relegation zone after one win in 13 league outings but Fabian Hurzeler’s side have stopped the rot by beating Brentford and Nottingham Forest in their last two matches.

Given Arsenal have failed to beat both the Bees and Forest in 2026, there is no reason Brighton can’t give their fans something to cheer in Wednesday’s showdown.

Gunners goal-getter Gyokeres to haunt former side

Keeping their visitors out is where things get difficult for Brighton. The Seagulls have managed only one clean sheet in their last ten games and may struggle to stop Arsenal, who have scored 26 goals in nine matches, from finding the net.

In particular, Viktor Gyokeres looks set to cause the hosts plenty of problems. The Swede saves his best for the weaker sides, scoring nine of his ten Premier League goals against teams in the bottom half, and he looks a decent price to net against his former employers.
