Burnley vs Bolton Predictions
Bolton have gone from one extreme to the other, having started the season with just 1 goal in their opening 6 matches but a pretty solid defence, they have started scoring and conceding plenty of late but they are still struggling to move away from trouble, all be it for different reasons.
There have been 16 goals in the last 3 matches involving them but worryingly they’ve conceded 4 in their last 2 away games, a 4-1 defeat at Huddersfield and a 4-3 defeat at QPR just before the international break. Gary Madine netted a last gasp leveller in their last home game, a 2-2 draw against leaders Brighton but they were on the wrong end of a decisive 90th minute strike at Loftus Road.
Burnley have been in the goals too and with the worst defensive record in the top six, haven’t been quite as strong at the back as many thought they would be. There have been 3 or more goals in 5 of their last 6 fixtures and against a more open looking Bolton side than the one we saw in the early weeks, there looks to be value in backing there to be over 2.5 goals here at 19/20.
Although they lost to Reading in their last home game, Burnley’s overall form has been good with 5 wins coming from their last 7 matches. Struggling Bolton are unlikely to pose them as many problems as the Royals did and at Turf Moor you have to fancy a solid looking Burnley side to win this game.
They haven’t exactly taken the league by storm on their return to this division and only one of their wins has been by more than a single goal, so consider backing Burnley to win 2-1 here at odds of 15/2.
