Caracas vs Boca Juniors Predictions
- Caracas have lost 6 of their last 10 Copa Libertadores matches.
- Boca are unbeaten in 6 games, winning 5 times in the process.
- Boca have conceded just once over said run.
- Boca have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 Libertadores matches.
Caracas looking to cause a huge shock
After crashing out in the Libertadores qualification rounds last season, Venezuelan champions Caracas entered the group directly this year. Nonetheless, up against Boca Juniors, Independiente Medellin and Libertad, the side are clear favourites to finish bottom of the group and the odds are stacked firmly against them.
Indeed, coming from a very weak domestic league, Caracas simply don’t have the resources or quality of the above mentioned outfits. They will go into each and every game as clear underdogs and given they’ve lost 6 of their last 10 Libertadores fixtures, it’s hard to see them upsetting the odds.
Boca looking to get off the mark
Meanwhile, Boca Juniors will continue the hunt for a first Libertadores title since 2007 and are one of the favourites to lift the trophy in 2020. El Xeneize lost the final of the competition to arch rivals River back in 2018; whilst they crashed out at the semi-final stage to Los Millonarios last year; creating a desperate need for redemption in their ranks.
Boca will be hungry to kick their continental campaign off with a win but also have an important domestic game with Gimnasia at the weekend to contend with, so a few changes could be made for the trip. Nonetheless, whatever side takes to the field will do so in confident mood, given Miguel Angel Russo’s troops are unbeaten in 6 games; of which they’ve won 5.
Boca should win without any problems
Ultimately, you just can’t see Caracas upsetting Boca and there’s only one favourite heading into the game. The two couldn’t be further apart in just about every metric and if the Argentines play at anywhere near their maximum, they’ll win comfortably.
All things considered, it’s backing a Boca win to nil that has caught our attention as far as the betting is concerned and we feel it provides good value at current odds. Boca have conceded just 1 goal over their last 6 matches and we fancy them to continue that streak with a routine 2-0 win.
