Cardiff vs Fulham Predictions
This is one of the hardest games to call this weekend in the Championship with the bookies struggling to decide upon a favourite. Both teams are in really good form but there are a few factors that suggest Cardiff might have the edge.
The first being that they should be the fresher of the two sides, having had a full week to prepare for the game, following what was little more than a training ground exercise as they demolished Rotherham 5-0 last Saturday. By contrast Fulham have played twice since then and will have had less than 72 hours to prepare for this, following their win in Bristol on Wednesday night.
Fulham are now just one place outside the play-off places and have won 4 of their last 5 Championship games, so their form is strong. However, it is worth noting they’ve had a fairly kind run of fixtures of late. All of those 5 recent matches were against sides currently in the bottom 9 positions and 3 of them are deeply involved in the relegation scrap. Therefore, a return of 12 points isn’t necessarily much more than you’d have expected.
Cardiff have also won 4 of their last 5 games but they have picked up some real scalps. Wins on the road at Leeds and Derby were the highlights and 4 of those 5 matches were against top half sides so they certainly won’t fear Fulham. Neil Warnock is again doing an excellent job at a Championship club. It’s easy to forget they looked in deep relegation trouble when he took over. Under the former Blades boss, Cardiff have averaged 1.68 points per league game and their goal threat has massively increased.
The Bluebirds have netted 9 goals in their last 2 matches alone and in Kenneth Zohorè they look to have finally found the answer to their striker problem. The Dane bagged a brace last weekend and has 4 goals in his last 5 appearances so backing Zohore to score anytime at 11/5 could be well worth a bet here.
Cardiff have really found some momentum of late, particularly at home where they’ve won 4 of their last 5 matches to nil. Big improvements have been made at both ends of the pitch so backing Cardiff 0.00 Asian Handicap at Evens looks to offer value here.
