Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC Predictions
Central Coast Mariners just can’t seem to break out of their losing streak at the moment. Perth Glory romped to a 4-0 win over the struggling side on Saturday to make it six defeats in a row. They have now failed to score in any of their last three outings as well and have lost four on the bounce at the Central Coast Stadium.
This keeps them firmly at the foot of the Hyundai A-League table with a measly tally of 12 points from 23 matches, 13 points fewer than 9th placed Wellington Phoenix.
Sydney FC are doing well by comparison, but have been really disappointing when you take into consideration the fact that they were challenging for the top spot in the A-League last season.
They currently find themselves just outside the playoff spots in 7th position, although a win on Saturday could see them move up into 6th place at the expense of current A-League champions Melbourne Victory.
Sydney FC did manage a win in midweek in the Asian Champions League, putting an end to their two match losing streak and instilling a bit of confidence into the faltering squad.
Considering Central Coast Mariners’ recent form the visitors will be confident of picking up another win on Saturday as well. I’m backing Sydney FC to win this one, and odds of 4/7 for that outcome look fairly priced to me, especially considering they are on a five match winning streak against Central Coast Mariners. I’m also going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 10/1.
