Charlton should be backed to get a home win over Oxford at The Valley on Saturday. The visitors have been poor on the road this season, with just two wins in 11 away games.

Charlton are five places above Oxford in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts have won six and lost eight of their 20 league games, while Oxford have four wins and ten defeats.

Charlton should get a goal here. They have scored an average of two goals a game in their three Championship home games against teams in the bottom six this season.

The visitors could do with turning things around. Oxford have won just one of their last nine Championship matches and have failed to win any of their last four away games.

The visitors have been leaky at the back, with Oxford failing to keep a clean sheet in 18 of their last 20 Championship games. They are on a run of seven away days without recording a shutout.

A 1-0 home win for Charlton looks a decent correct-score bet. There have been fewer than three goals in four of Oxford’s last six Championship games, three of Charlton’s six league wins this season have come via a 1-0 scoreline, and eight of Oxford’s ten defeats have come by the odd goal.
