AGF Aarhus vs Benfica Predictions
- Benfica won the first leg 3-1
- Both teams have scored in Benfica’s last two away qualifiers
- Both teams have scored in all four of Aarhus’ home games this season
Benfica looking to finish the job in Denmark
Benfica look on course to reach the main draw of the Europa League as they head to Denmark holding a 3-1 lead over Aarhus ahead of the second leg.
The Portuguese giants overcame Hearts in the previous round and took their foot of the gas in the second leg as they were held to a 1-1 draw in Edinburgh, having won the first leg 6-1.
They may be a bit more focused for this second leg with a slimmer lead to defend. Benfica still look the more likely winners, but the best angle here could instead be backing both teams to score.
There have been goals at both ends in all four of Aarhus’ home games this season and they’ve only failed to score in one of their five summer qualifiers, they also managed to score against Benfica in Portugal.
The Lisbon giants have strolled through their qualifiers but they have been conceding, with just one clean sheet in their five games, and they have just one clean sheet in their last 11 competitive away games in a run stretching back into last season.
Benfica haven’t managed a road win in qualifying after defeat at St Gallen and a draw with Hearts, but their dominant first leg performance suggests they should be able to beat Aarhus again and a 2-1 victory for the visitors has a chance.
