Under 2.5 goals looks the best bet when Chicago Fire host New York Red Bulls at Soldier Field.

New York Red Bulls have 33 points from their 24 games this season, recording nine wins, six draws and nine losses, while Chicago Fire sit just behind them on 32 points from 23 games, with nine wins, five draws and nine defeats.

Chicago Fire won 2-0 against Montreal last weekend, but have lost three of their last four MLS home games, while New York Red Bulls have recorded only one victory in their last seven matches.

Under 2.5 goals has been a feature of the visitors’ last few matches, with fewer than three goals in five of New York Red Bulls’ last six MLS away games. There have been under 2.5 goals in eight of their 12 road games this season.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking like a decent correct-score bet. Both teams have scored in four of Chicago Fire’s last five MLS matches and both had scored by the break the last time these two met in April.
