Columbus looking to continue good start

Columbus Crew have enjoyed their start to the 2020 season with a 1-0 win over New York City being followed up with a 1-1 draw away to current MLS Cup holders, Seattle Sounders. Columbus weren’t expected to be leading the way this season but they have done well to start the season and will be looking to carry things on in their third game of the season.

Columbus have scored twice so far this season, one in each of their games, and conceded just once with a clean sheet against New York City starting their season. The attacking trio behind Gyasi Zardes have all started well and this could be key to their success with those three players all possessing the ability to win a game.

Real Salt Lake looking for the first win of the season

Real Salt Lake started the 2020 season with a goalless draw away to Orlando City and followed this up with another point when they drew 1-1 with New York Red Bulls at Rio Tinto Stadium. The side have yet to taste defeat but have also yet to pick up a win but they’ll be keen to continue an unbeaten start in 2020 for as long as possible.

The opening game, away to Orlando, was a little disappointing with just one shot on target but they improved on this in their second game, hitting the target six times against New York Red Bulls in a game that they probably should’ve won. The team look a little light in attack but will be hoping the likes of Albert Rusnak will be able to provide a creative spark.

Columbus likely to pick up a slender win again

Columbus have looked good in their opening two games of the season and we backed them to pull off a shock overall this season. We think their good start continues this weekend but we can’t see there being a lot of goals in the match. Real Salt Lake haven’t looked impressive in attack and Columbus have been efficient rather than spectacular in the final third and we’re backing this game to see under 2.5 goals.

Columbus should be able to pick up another three points in this game though with the home side looking quite confident throughout the squad. We’re predicting that they pick up another slender victory to continue their impressive start with a 1-0 win looking like good value.
