      Sligo Rovers to Win

      Reason for tip

Sligo look the value bet to win away at Cork on Friday. The hosts have won just one of their last 22 league games and have lost 13 of 24 this season, conceding more goals than any other Premier Division side. In contrast, Sligo are unbeaten in four and could pile more misery on a Cork side lacking cutting edge and confidence.

      Sligo Rovers 1-0

      Reason for tip

A 1-0 away win appeals. Cork have lost by a single goal on seven occasions this season and have failed to score more than once in all of their last six games.

Struggling Cork Face More Pain as Sligo Chase Vital Away Win

Sligo are worth backing to win at Cork on Friday. The hosts have won just one of their last ten Premier Division home games, and it is six games since they last tasted victory at Turner’s Cross.

Sligo are one place above Cork in the table but have eight points more. Cork, bottom of the Premier Division with just two wins so far, have lost 13 times, while Sligo have six wins and 13 defeats.

Cork could not break their losing habit last time, going down 2-0 to Waterford two weeks ago in their last Premier Division outing.

Cork’s form is a concern. They have won just one of their last 22 league matches and, of late, four of their last six have ended in defeat. They go into this game on the back of two straight losses.

Cork’s attack has been blunt this season, with just 12 goals in 12 home games – an average of one goal a game. That lack of cutting edge will make it difficult for them to secure a win here.

No team has a worse defensive record in the Premier Division than Cork this season. They have conceded 43 goals in 24 games, failing to keep a clean sheet in 24 of their last 25 league matches.

Sligo have lost just one of their last six Premier Division games, and their current four-game unbeaten run is their longest this season. They were last beaten 1-0 by Drogheda last month.

A narrow 1-0 win for Sligo looks the most likely outcome. There have been fewer than three goals in three of the last five Premier Division clashes between these sides, and Cork have lost by a single goal seven times in the league.
