Sky Blues look clear for three points

Coventry and Ipswich meet at the CBS Arena on Monday in a huge clash of clubs that are desperate to return to the top flight. The table-topping Sky Blues extended their advantage at the summit to eight points on Boxing Day with as 1-0 home win over Swansea.

Frank Lampard’s side limited the visitors to just two shots on target in keeping their second successive home clean sheet and are now unbeaten in four since a 3-0 reverse at Portman Road earlier this month.

That result and performance seems a far cry away from the inconsistent showings Ipswich have produced in their last four games.

Tractor Boys are stuck in an away rut

Kieron McKenna’s men lost 3-1 at Leicester and drew 0-0 with Millwall wither side of a 3-1 home win over rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday. They have failed to win each of their last four away games against inferior sides to the Sky Blues.

Given the direction of travel for both clubs, Coventry’s home advantage could prove decisive here. Lampard’s side have secured maximum points eight times in a row at the CBS Arena and have come from behind to win three of those.

Look no further than the in-form Ephron Mason-Clark in goalscorer betting while it may be profitable to pick the hosts to win with fewer than 3.5 goals in the game given their last five contests have failed to produce a fourth goal.
