Crystal Palace vs Everton Predictions
Crystal Palace picked up their first Premier League win of 2016 on Saturday when they beat relegation rivals Norwich 1-0 at Selhurst Park. This wasn’t just a huge relief for Crystal Palace and Jason Puncheon, who scored his first goal of the season, but also an absolutely crucial result for both sides.
Palace are now ten points clear of the relegation zone and have allayed creeping fears of the drop, whilst Norwich’s hopes of avoiding relegation took a pretty big blow.
This boost in confidence for Crystal Palace couldn’t have come at a better time. They host an out of form Everton side in this match and have an FA Cup semi-final against Watford in the near future.
It was Watford who extended Everton’s poor run of form on Saturday. Two goals in first half injury time providing the only entertainment of the afternoon as the two out of form sides battles to an uninspiring 1-1 draw. This leaves Everton in a very disappointing 14th position in the Premier League, and they can’t expect to keep star players such as John Stones, Ross Barkley, and Romelu Lukaku with finishing positions such as that.
This makes it just one win from Everton’s last five matches in all competitions, and in the Premier League they have lost four of their last six outings. They do seem to perform better on the road though, with one defeat, three draws, and three wins coming in their last seven away days in the league.
Everton did manage to end their two match goal drought on Saturday though, and they will surely be able to grab a goal against a Crystal Palace side who have conceded in 12 of their last 13 Premier League matches.
But Everton rarely look solid at the back, and away from home I expect the hosts to get a goal as well, so odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look good value for money, as do odds of 17/2 for a 2-1 Everton win.
