Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions
- Palace have lost each of their last five meetings with Tottenham
- Spurs have won seven of their last eight in all competitions
- The visitors came away with a 2-1 win in this encounter last season
Spurs could pile on Eagles misery
Tottenham have been in inspired form under Ange Postecoglou in recent weeks and the North Londoners will be hoping to claim all three points once again when they go south of the Thames to take on a Crystal Palace side struggling for results.
Spurs have won seven of their last eight matches in all competitions including each of their last two, where they thrashed another London rival in West Ham 4-1 before edging past AZ Alkmaar 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Palace meanwhile have failed to continue the momentum garnered when Oliver Glasner took over as manager last season, failing to win any of their opening eight matches in the league and scoring just five goals in the process – the lowest tally in the division.
The hosts have only netted twice at Selhurst Park this season and they could struggle to find the back of the net again on Sunday. The form and quality of Tottenham should prove to be too much for the Eagles and an away victory looks a safe bet, with our prediction being a 2-0 win for Spurs.
Johnson can continue impressive away form
Tottenham have found the net with relative ease this season, scoring 18 goals in the Premier League so far – a tally that is only bettered by reigning champions Manchester City.
While the likes of James Maddison and Heung-min Son lead the way in terms of goal contributions, Welsh winger Brennan Johnson’s recent form on the road sees him as a favourable option in the goalscorer market in this encounter.
The 23-year-old has found the net in each of Tottenham’s last four away matches in all competitions, including the opener in their 3-0 victory at Manchester United at the end of September, and he will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet on Sunday.
