Crystal Palace vs West Brom Predictions
Crystal Palace’s 1-0 win at the newly promoted Watford stopped their losing streak extending to three games and got them back on track after back to back defeats.
Their losses did come against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur though, and they were only 1-0 scorelines. These can’t really be considered as bad results for Alan Pardew’s side.
This puts their record at four wins and three losses in their seven Premier League games so far, a record which puts them in a decent 7th position in the table, although a win could see them move as high as 3rd.
West Brom are an odd team. They often look really solid defensively, and have kept five clean sheets this season in all competitions. But when they concede they just fall apart, and in the four games they have let a goal slip they have conceded three goals in each of them.
The latest of these was on Monday evening when they let Everton come back from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2, a result which will have smashed the confidence of the defence into pieces.
This came after a midweek 3-0 defeat to Norwich in the Capital One Cup, a loss which brought an end to West Brom’s four match unbeaten streak.
Their points tally sits on eight points from their first seven games, putting them in 15th position.
The history between these sides shows that there isn’t much to split them. Both teams have won two of the last five meetings, with the remaining one being a draw.
But Crystal Palace look a lot better than they have done in recent years at the start of this season, and coupled with the home advantage I expect them to win against a slumping West Brom side. Odds of 5/6 for this outcome look like really good value as well, as do odds of 7/1 for a 2-0 win.
