Czech Republic were drawn in one of the most difficult groups of Euro 2016 and faced the unlikely and arduous task of overcoming Spain, Croatia, and Turkey to make it to the knockout stages of the competition.

They didn’t put up much of a fight in all honesty, losing 1-0 to Spain in the opening match before a somewhat undeserved 2-2 draw with Croatia. This was followed by a completely lifeless performance against Turkey, with them losing 2-0 to crash out of the competition.

This marked the end of Petr Cech’s international career, and Czech Republic will now have to look to replace their star man inbetween the sticks. Midfield legend Tomas Rosicky is thought to have played his international swansong as well, so this is a time of change for the Czech Republic.

Armenia didn’t have the stress of enjoyment of Euro 2016 over the summer after finishing rock bottom of their qualification group last year. They picked up just two points in one of the easier groups of the competition, with their only points coming in home matches against Denmark and Serbia.

The visitors have taken part in a few friendlies this summer, with Guatemala and El Salvador both providing low quality opposition for them to get some wins under their belts. These two victories ended a 12 month stretch of matches without a win for Armenia though, with 11 of their 14 winless matches ending in defeat for them.

Armenia certainly aren’t the most defensively sound team in the world either. They have conceded 33 goals in their last 16 outings, scoring 18 in the process and seeing at least three goals in six of their last nine.

Czech Republic have seen at least three goals in ten of their last 15 outings as well, which makes odds of 23/20 for Over 2.5 Goals on Wednesday look excellent value for money. I’m going for a comfortable 3-1 win for Czech Republic for my correct score prediction as well.
