Larne vs Lincoln Red Imps FC Predictions
- Lincoln Red Imps have failed to win in nine European away games
- The visitors have lost six of their last nine trips, including their last two away qualifiers
- The hosts won 3-1 at home when these two sides met at this stage in 2024
Larne to build on first-leg victory
Larne were 2-0 winners in Gibraltar last week, and they stand on the verge of a second-ever appearance in the League Phase of the Conference League.
They became the first Northern Irish side to qualify for a European competition in 2024, when they beat Lincoln Red Imps in the playoff round of Conference League qualifying.
Having wrestled back their title last term, Larne now stand on the verge of repeating that feat against the same opponents.
The omens aren’t great for the visitors, as they’ve failed to win any of their last nine European away trips. They’ve lost 26 away matches in Europe since 2014, and that includes defeats at Mjallby AIF and Omonia in this summer’s qualifying campaign.
Lincoln suffered 5-1 defeats at Braga and Red Star in last year’s European campaign, before conceding 12 times across three away defeats in the League Phase of the Conference League.
The Northern Irish side have kept four clean sheets across their last seven home European games, and they can claim a win along with a place in this week’s Conference League draw.
