Dinamo Minsk vs Slutsk Predictions
- FC Slutsk have seen both teams score in five of their six Belarus Premier League games this season.
- Dinamo Minsk have only failed to score twice this term, but have only kept two clean sheets at the other end.
- The home side has won this fixture in six of the last seven meetings.
- Both league meetings between Dinamo Minsk and Slutsk last season ended 2-1 to the home side.
Dinamo Minsk recover after poor start
Dinamo Minsk missed out on a top three spot in the Belarus Premier League for the first time since 2011 last season, and the start of the 2020 campaign carried on in that same vein of disappointment.
They lost their opening two clashes against the newly promoted Rukh Brest and cross-city rivals FC Minsk, but they have since unearthed a bit of form. Their 3-1 dismantling of Smolevichi last weekend made it three wins from their last four, pushing them up to 9th in the table and just four points off the top spot.
Attacking credentials take Slutsk to the top of the pile
That top spot is somewhat surprisingly held by Slutsk thanks to their thrilling 3-2 win over Belshina last weekend. They came very close to letting a 2-0 lead fall by the wayside last Sunday, but an 85th minute red card for the visiting Belshina was quickly followed by a late winner by two-goal hero Umar Bala.
The visitors have only lost one game this season, but it’s not always been an easy ride for them. They are yet to keep a clean sheet in the 2020 Premier League campaign, a hole in their gameplan that has been remedied by their league-high 12 goal tally.
History points towards the hosts on Saturday
Dinamo Minsk will be well aware of Slutsk’s difficulties at the back and, having scored nine goals themselves, they are more than capable of taking advantage. The same can be said of Slutsk though, who face a host side that have only kept two clean sheets so far.
Both teams have scored in five of Slutsk’s six outings this term and, given both teams’ offensive and defensive records, backing both teams to score on Saturday looks excellent value at these odds.
We are, however, expecting the hosts to emerge victorious. Of the last seven times these sides have met, six of them have ended up with the home side taking the victory. Dinamo Minsk have been on the winning side on five occasions, and with victories in each of their last two home games we think a repeat of their 2-1 win over Slutsk last September is a promising option for our correct score prediction.
