Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Dinamo haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 10 games, while Chelsea have conceded in each of their last five. The Blues have struggled defensively all season, while the hosts averaged over two goals per game in qualifying.

Mislav Orsic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Orsic impressed in Dinamo’s Europa League run last term, scoring four goals in eight games. He heads into this clash in stellar form, with six goals in his last seven matches. Back him to cause problems for the Chelsea defence.

Dinamo Zagreb vs Chelsea Predictions

  • Dinamo have scored 14 goals across their last four games
  • Mislav Orsic has scored six times in his last seven matches
  • The hosts averaged over two goals per game during qualifying
  • Both teams have scored in four of Chelsea’s last five

Questions remain for Blues

Chelsea may have taken three points away from Saturday’s clash with West Ham, but they emerged with little credit. The Blues fell behind at home to West Ham and then they almost ruined their comeback by conceding a late equaliser. While VAR came to their rescue, it was far from a deserved win.

Now Thomas Tuchel and his side head to Croatia for their first Champions League game of the campaign. I pegged the Blues as dark horses in this season’s competition, but they still need to step up even after a weekend win.

Dinamo carry a threat

Chelsea let top spot slip in their group last year after a 3-3 draw away to Zenit St Petersburg, so they need to be wary of the threat posed by Dinamo here. The hosts are certainly heading into the game in form, having scored 14 times across their last four starts.

They also averaged over two goals per game in qualifying, making the group stage after scoring four in each of their last two home matches. The hosts were able to put together a solid Europa League run last season too, with Mislav Orsic making his mark in that run with four goals in eight games.

Orsic is the form man to watch here after hitting six goals in his last seven matches ahead of this clash. We’ve seen defensive gaps in this Chelsea side already this term, so Orsic is great value to find the net.

Blues look too open

Chelsea have now seen both teams score in four of their last five games, failing to keep a clean sheet in that run. The Blues have only managed one shut-out this term – a fortunate 1-0 win at Everton.

Dinamo should push forward in front of their home support so I’m backing both teams to score, with the Blues packing enough attacking strength to score in this win. Dinamo have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 matches, so back the Blues to score a couple and claim a win.
