Rovers look to have accepted their fate

Doncaster have endured a truly woeful season to date and the players seem resigned to the fact that they will be in League Two next year. Doncaster have failed to score in any of their last five matches and have picked up just a solitary point in that period. Gary McSheffrey’s side are now eight points from safety with five games remaining and prospects of survival look beyond remote. They host the only team below them in the League One table on Saturday. 

Crewe can drag hosts down with them

Crewe have been no great shakes themselves this season and anything but a win on Saturday will seal David Artell’s sides fate. Crewe have lost seven on the spin but have already beaten Saturday’s hosts this season – Crewe beat Doncaster 2-0 in the EFL Trophy back in December. It is hard to fancy either of these sides, with both being in such dreadful form but at least the visitors can lean on that performance.

Doncaster shouldn’t be 6/5 against anyone and can easily be steered at those odds. I will chance Crewe Draw No Bet as the main selection for this one. The reverse league fixture finished 1-1 and Crewe’s 2-0 victory over Doncaster in the EFL Trophy is about the only angle into this one. In the correct score market, I suggest chancing a 2-1 Crewe victory.
