Dundee United vs Partick Thistle Predictions
Dundee United, having been relegated a short time ago, managed to frustratingly break out of their winless streak on Friday when they beat Inverness CT 3-2 away from home. The relegated club’s fans must surely be asking why they couldn’t produce such results when it actually mattered. It may not have made a difference, but it would have given them a fighting chance.
This was their first win in their last five outings, with four normal time defeats and a penalty loss to Hibs making up the five results since their last victory. It was this run that resigned them to relegation, and they come into the penultimate Scottish Premiership game eight points behind Kilmarnock with just six left to play for.
Partick Thistle are safe from any threat of relegation now that Kilmarnock’s relegation playoff position has been sealed, and that relief in pressure obviously did them the world of good too. They ended their own three match losing streak on Saturday with an away win at Kilmarnock.
This result made it three wins, three defeats, and one draw in their last seven outings in all competitions, a record which puts them in 8th position in the Scottish Premiership. They still have a chance of finishing at the top of the bottom split in the table in 7th, but they could also drop a spot before the end of the season.
Partick Thistle put in a good shift at Kilmarnock on Saturday, and away from home they have now won three of their last five in the Scottish Premiership. Dundee United have lost three of their last four home matches and drawn the remaining one, so I’m liking the look of the visitors for this one.
Odds of 10/11 to back Partick Thistle Draw No Bet look excellent value to me given Dundee United’s evident lack of quality. I’m looking towards a 2-0 correct score prediction at 14/1 as well.
