Eintracht Frankfurt vs Wolfsburg Betting Tips

Eintracht Frankfurt are having a really tough season, and they will be desperately hoping that the winter break has done them some good.

They did manage to win their last Bundesliga match, with that 2-1 win over Werder Bremen ending a four match losing streak and a seven match winless streak.

But that was only their second win in their last 14 matches in all competitions, a record which has left them perilously close to the bottom of the Bundesliga. They are in 14^th position with 17 points from their first 17 league games, just four more points than bottom of the table Hoffenheim.

Wolfsburg aren’t doing particularly well either though. They finished 2^nd in last season’s Bundesliga but now find themselves down in 7^th position with only 26 points from 17 games.

They didn’t manage to win any of their final four Bundesliga matches before the winter break, although they did get an impressive 3-2 victory against Manchester United to progress in the Champions League.

But Wolfsburg did win all three of their friendly matches over the winter break, which will surely have helped their confidence after a poor run of form in the league.

Both teams problems have been largely defensive. Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded 11 goals in their last five competitive matches, whilst Wolfsburg have shipped eight in their last four games.

Three of these four Wolfsburg games have seen three or more goals scored, whilst Eintracht Frankfurt have seen more than two goals netted in four of their last five.

This makes odds of 4/6 for Over 2.5 Goals look good value to me, and I’m also backing a 3-1 Wolfsburg win at excellent value odds of 14/1.
