It’s a high profile clash between two big clubs who still have plenty to play for. The title race might realistically now be down to Napoli vs Juventus, but there is still a Champions League place to play for and that battle is getting crowded with AC Milan and Roma both turning around their form and some lingering thoughts about Lazio as well.

Since losing back-to-back games to Milan and Lazio, Fiorentina are unbeaten in four games. It includes wins over Torino and Carpi, but also away draws against Bologna and Genoa. Their rhythm just hasn’t quite been there, especially in terms of their attacking play where they’ve scored just six times in their last six games.

Inter Milan are in a similar slump, they’ve won just once in their last six games, dropping from Serie A leaders to irrelevant in the title race and battling for the final Champions League place.

Fiorentina have won the last three games in this series. They dominated the San Siro clash earlier this season winning 4-1, after collecting 1-0 and 3-0 victories one year ago.

Scoring goals has never been their speciality but Inter are missing a couple of forwards in Mauro Icardi and Steven Jovetic, while Felipe Melo is also expected to be ruled out. Daniel Pavlovic may or may not be available for a mostly healthy Fiorentina.

Reason for Betting Tips

Inter’s defensive strategy has its positives and negatives. The downside is that at times, they allow good teams to control the football too much and to bide their time to be creative and generate lots of chances. Fiorentina are a strong example of that and they demonstrated it to startling effect in the last meeting between the teams. We think there’s a mental advantage here for Fiorentina, but we also don’t anticipate that they’ll be good enough to keep a clean sheet.
