Fulham have the feel of a club in disarray right now. Over a month has now passed since manager Kit Symons was dismissed but they still do not have a permanent replacement. After weeks of speculation and quite a few high profile managers being linked with the job, they made the uninspiring announcement that Stuart Gray had been placed in temporary charge this week.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss will take charge of the Cottagers here and there is plenty of scope for improvement after a timid 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last time out. Brentford might already be on to their 3rd boss of the campaign but appear to be a club heading in the right direction and Dean Smith got his reign off to the ideal start last weekend with a 2-0 win over MK Dons.

That extended Brentford’s unbeaten run to 4 matches and they’ve won 6 of their last 9 to shoot up the table into serious play-off contention. They also had much the better of things when these clubs resumed hostilities last season after a long period in different leagues.

Brentford won 2-1 at Griffin Park and 4-1 at Craven Cottage to do the double over their West London rivals and at 8/13 they look good value to at the very least avoid defeat here.

They could do better than that though and unquestionably it is they who hold the confidence and momentum coming into this one. Therefore consider taking a punt on Brentford to win 2-1 at 10/1 and pile more misery on Fulham.
