Genoa vs Como Predictions

• Genoa are without a win in seven Serie A outings, losing each of the last four
• Como are unbeaten in five away games, winning four times and scoring ten goals in that run
• The visitors have won ten of their last 15 Serie A matches

Lariani look set for another success

It could be argued that no team in Europe was more delighted to see the transfer window slam shut than Como, who managed to keep hold of Nico Paz, Anastasios Douvikas, Martin Baturina and the rest of their key men despite a summer of speculation. 

Having finished fourth last season, plenty of teams were in the market for their young stars, as well as manager Cesc Fabregas. The core remains, however, and, as a result, the ambitious Lariani will be targeting a title charge this time around. 

Their title tilt didn’t get off to the best start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Udinese but they bounced back in style when winning 2-1 at Napoli and that momentum makes them hard to oppose in Friday’s clash with Genoa. 

Como can cruise to victory again

Given their first two matches came against Napoli and Lazio, Friday’s hosts can be forgiven for their points and goals tallies sitting at zero. Although a visit from Como isn’t likely to provide the relief Daniele De Rossi was hoping for, and more misery awaits. 

Genoa managed a combined expected-goals figure of just 1.09 across their opening two defeats and more of the same is on the cards against Fabregas’s elite side, a team who were comfortable 2-0 winners at Stadio Luigi Ferraris just five months ago.
