Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Leeds have seen at least three goals in all four competitive games this season and in 11 of their last 13 away games. These teams have scored 17 goals between them this term and six of their eight combined outings have featured three or more goals.

Leandro Trossard To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Leandro Trossard scored last weekend and has been causing all sorts of problems from left wing-back. He netted eight Premier League goals last term and has scored in three of his last six Premier League outings.

Brighton vs Leeds Predictions

  • All four of Leeds’ competitive games this season have featured at least three goals.
  • Brighton and Leeds have scored a combined 17 goals this season.
  • Brighton are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Leeds.

Soaring Seagulls extend unbeaten record

Brighton’s impressive start to the season continued with a routine dismantling of Forest Green Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and they are worthy favourites to extend their unbeaten start when they host Leeds on Saturday.

The Seagulls kicked things off with a fantastic performance at Old Trafford and have taken seven points from three games so far, with their only goal conceded being that Alexis MacAllister own-goal in the opening game of the season.

Leeds defy the critics with strong start

However, Leeds have proven the critics wrong with a similarly bright start to the campaign, culminating in a sensation 3-0 win over Chelsea last weekend.

Jesse Marsch’s side followed that up with Carabao Cup success to match Brighton’s record of three wins and a draw, although their capitulation at Southampton is a cause for concern.

Back goals at the Amex

Both these sides have looked particularly impressive going forward with 17 goals scored between them and, with all four Leeds games featuring at least three goals, backing over 2.5 goals looks a solid option.

It is worth noting that Leeds are outperforming their expected goals (xG) by 1.9, though, while Brighton are underperforming their xG slightly. Graham Potter’s side have looked the more impressive of the two so far and Brighton are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the Whites, so a 2-1 correct score prediction appeals.

I’m also backing Leandro Trossard to follow up his goal at West Ham last weekend. The Belgium international has been causing all sorts of problems from his left wing-back position and has scored in three of his last six Premier League outings.
