Home comforts

The hosts were made to work for a point last time out as a late Moussa Dembele strike saw them level the scoring away to Reims. It will be considered a disappointing result, particularly with PSG also dropping points and manager Peter Bosz stated as much post-match stating he was “not happy at all” and that they were there to win the match. A return to home soil will be much-welcomed, a place where they have six consecutive league victories, scoring at least three times in five of those.

Auxerre have made a solid start to life in Ligue 1 after going unbeaten across their last three matches. The key for them will be keeping things tight early doors as Lyon have opened the scoring within 30 minutes in each of their last six home league games. Auxerre boss Jean-Marc Furlan played for Lyon between 1980-82 but he has a poor record against the hosts, losing nine of his 11 games against them as a manager.

Goals are on the cards

We certainly see both teams scoring in this one. Key midfielder Lucas Paqueta has departed for West Ham but the hosts will feel confident on their home turf. We will side with both teams to score but the match to produce three or more goals.
