Genoa vs Frosinone Predictions

A run of three home wins on the bounce has helped Genoa to ease away from the relegation places and up into a position of relative security in mid-table. The return to fitness of Genoa’s top goalscorer, Leonardo Pavoletti, is another boost to the club, with the striker having hit 10 goals in the league this season, more than double what any of his team-mates have been able to contribute. It is possible that Genoa could take that foot off the gas now they have virtually secured their Serie A status but Gian Piero Gasperini’s men look like a team on the up and they should dispose of a poor Frosinone side comfortably on Sunday.

Frosinone have been appalling on the road for most of the season and they have only won once on the road, a 2-1 triumph over the similarly out-of-form Empoli in February. Successive defeats to relegation rivals Sampdoria and Carpi have left Roberto Stellone’s side feeling deflated, but they are still just two points away from safety, while Genoa now sit six points above the drop zone. Frosinone’s defence will be causing Stellone a lot of headaches as they simply do not look like keeping clean sheets and cannot outscore their opponents.

Genoa’s last three home wins have all come by a single goal and it is tempting to back Gasperini’s side to repeat the trick for a fourth game in a row at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. However, with Frosinone’s defence being so poor there is a good chance for Pavoletti to mark his return to the side in style here and Genoa could put a few goals away. Genoa to score in both halves at 11/8 with bet365 is an extremely appealing bet, while Genoa to win 3-1 at 12/1 with bet365 is worth a look from the correct scores market.
