      Genoa vs Napoli Predictions

      • Napoli are unbeaten in their last eight games against Genoa
      • Udinese scored only 18 home league goals last term
      • Como finished 21 points ahead of Udinese last season

      Azzurri aiming for opening success

Napoli fell a long way short of challenging Inter for the Serie A title last season and the Azzurri have responded by making changes this summer.

Massimiliano Allegri replaces Antonio Conte in the dugout and Rasmus Hojlund and Alisson Santos are the big-ticket signings.

Premier League trio Gabriel Jesus, Joshua Zirkzee and Nicolas Jackson have all been linked with a move to Naples, but it’s unlikely that any of that trio will be signed in time to face Genoa on Saturday.

Napoli were not able to challenge Inter last season, but they only lost eight of their 38 Italian top-flight matches and that indicates that the overall strength of Serie A was pretty weak last term.

Genoa won only ten league games and young forward Jeff Ekhator has made the move to Juventus.

It’s difficult to see where the improvement will come from for Genoa this season and Daniele De Rossi’s men were beaten home and away by Napoli last term and finished with 35 fewer points than the Azzurri.

Napoli are a shade off odds-on to get the season off to a winning start at Stadio Luigi Ferraris and Allegri’s men are fancied to get the job done.
