Genoa vs Udinese Predictions

Udinese are on the up at the minute, having moved from relegation trouble to 13th in the table. They’re now just a single point off this weekend’s opponents Genoa, who are 10th. While the visitors struggled early on in the season, they’re out to prove that there’s little between these two sides. Can they claim a third away victory of the season?

Udinese are actually unlucky not to be in the top half themselves. They could well have made it three straight victories on Monday, as they drew 2-2 at home to Torino. They were leading 2-1 during that clash, but they had to settle for a point in the end. A win there would have moved them above Genoa, a side who are in mixed form of late.

The hosts have just two wins in their last eight games. They’ve won just once in their last four, although that was an impressive 3-0 victory over AC Milan. While that was a high point, they’ve struggled to repeat that kind of performance consistently. Genoa may be above their opponents for now, but Udinese will certainly threaten to leapfrog them on Sunday.

The visitors travel here having scored twice or more in their last three Serie A matches. That sudden goal surge has been a key part of their rise up the table. They’ve now scored 1.36 goals per game, thanks to their strong record of late. They’ve managed to find the net pretty consistently across the season, they’ve scored in 73% of their fixtures so far.

Those goals include strikes away to Juventus and AC Milan, two of the top three in the table. They come here having scored in their last four matches, and they’ll be looking to add to that scoring record away to Genoa, a team who have conceded a goal per game this term. They found the net three times in their last away match, and they’re looking pretty confident.

While Udinese should score here, they have conceded 1.6 goals per game this term. Genoa score 1.4 times per home match, and that number should go up once they take on an Udinese defence who have let in 18 in total already. That’s why we’re backing both teams to score, which is priced at 10/11 with bet365.
