Gillingham vs Burton Albion Predictions
- Gillingham haven’t won any of their last 13 matches
- Burton unbeaten in their last five against Gillingham
- Burton have taken four points from the last six available
Gills down and out
It may take Gillingham a considerable amount of time to recover from the mess Steve Evans has left behind. Last week’s mauling at the hands of Ipswich in which Gillingham didn’t manage a shot on target was further evidence of the Gills current plight.
It’s no win in 13 for Gillingham now. They have only managed to find the net seven times in those 13 matches and the players look like they’ve had just about enough this season. Steve Lovell has returned to the club on an interim basis but he may have an impossible task on his hands trying to get a tune out of this group of players.
The Brewers must fancy their chances
Given the sorry state of affairs the opposition find themselves in, Burton must fancy their chances on Saturday. In stark contrast to Saturday’s hosts Burton’s form may have just turned a corner. A 4-1 win at home to Crewe was followed by a 1-1 draw away to Cheltenham last time out, four points from the last six available sees Burton sit comfortably in mid-table.
Burton’s recent record in this fixture provides even more cause for optimism on Saturday. They haven’t lost any of the last five meetings between these two sides and their last two visits to Priestfield have yielded six points.
It’s hard to make any case whatsoever for Gillingham here and as such Burton will be the selection. Ill predict a comfortable away win and the home side to fire another blank, I’ll go for 3-0 to Burton as my correct score prediction.
