Granada vs Manchester United Predictions

  • Granada have lost their last three games
  • Man United have won both of their away knockout ties in this season’s Europa League
  • United have won three of their last four games, including two 1-0 wins

United’s trophy hopes on the line

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has guided United top of the Premier League, into the Carabao Cup semi-finals and the FA Cup last eight, but their trophy hopes now come down to the Europa League.

United meet La Liga side Granada on Thursday in the first leg of their quarter-final tie. The Spaniards are enjoying a dream debut season in this competition, but it looks like the wheels could be coming off their season ahead of this clash.

Granada struggling

The hosts look unlikely to return to Europe next time, having fallen to ninth place in the La Liga standings. Granada have thrilled on their way to the last eight – putting out Napoli on the way – but it looks like they could be running out of steam after a demanding schedule in a gruelling season.

Granada have lost their last three matches in all competitions, including a loss to Molde in the last round. They were beaten 3-0 at home to Villarreal at the weekend, which leaves them looking vulnerable going into the first leg.

United’s away heroics

The Red Devils have been at their best away from home this season, with the majority of their issues in the Premier League coming at Old Trafford. Their Europa League knockout clashes this term have both been won on the road, with United winning at Real Sociedad and AC Milan, drawing the meetings at Old Trafford.

United head into this one with three wins in their last four games and they’ve got enough to stop a Granada side who have won once in their last six games in Europe. The visitors have won 1-0 in two of their last four, so we’re backing an away win alongside a 1-0 victory for Solskjaer’s men.
