Greece vs Hungary Betting Tips

Greece have performed well below expectations in this European Championship qualification campaign, and they find themselves at the bottom of Group F and without a win going into the final round of matches.

They have only picked up three points from their nine games, but it does include an away draw against Sunday’s opponents Hungary.

Both of their other draws have come on the road as well, with Romania and Finland also failing to take advantage of their poor form on home turf.

But that does make their home record extraordinarily bleak, with four losses from four games and not a single goal scored in front of their own fans.

They have also lost twice against group minnows Faroe Islands, and with form such as this it’s no doubt that playing in front of the Greek fans has posed some problems for them.

Hungary, on the other hand, haven’t lost yet in their nine group matches, but four draws along with this loss sees them struggling to qualify for the finals next summer.

They are in 3^rd position in Group F with 16 points, meaning they will be relying on 2^nd placed Romania slipping up on Sunday if they are to secure an automatic qualification spot.

They need Romania to draw or lose against Faroe Islands, but they also need to beat Greece themselves so they will be going all out to get the victory on Sunday.

Greece have won three of the last five meetings between these sides, but all of those wins came during more secure times for the Greeks, and I don’t expect them to make it four wins this time out.

Considering Greece’s awful form in front of their own fans I think that odds of 8/5 for a Hungary win are amazingly good value, and taking into account the fact that Greece haven’t scored on home turf in their last five outings I’m also tempted by odds of 3/1 for Hungary to Win to Nil.
