Hearts have the edge

Hearts arrive here off the back of a 1-1 draw in the Edinburgh derby against Hibernian last time out but that result did at least extend their unbeaten start to the new campaign. They excelled last season as they finished third and they’ll be looking to try and go another step further this season. But first and foremost, they need to overcome Dundee United. The omens look good though considering Hearts are unbeaten across their previous five meetings with the visitors.

Dundee United have had a pretty dire start to their season and are already out of Europe. They arrive here after being the victims of a demolition job by Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar. Dundee United travelled to the AFAS Stadion with a 1-0 lead from the first leg but were then pummelled and you have to question their confidence levels after such a defeat.

Goals are the way to go

We think this should be a high-scoring encounter. Dundee United have often shown their defensive frailties and they paid the price for that during the week. We fancy at least a few goals to be scored here, possibly by Hearts alone!
