Huddersfield vs Brentford Predictions

Although there have been bigger stories at the top and the bottom, the form of Brentford over the past two months has been one of the most eye-catching things about the conclusion of this Championship season. There was a bit of pressure building on manager Dean Smith prior to a fine run of 6 wins from 8 matches in which the Bees have netted an impressive 19 goals. They cruised to a 3-0 win over local rivals Fulham last weekend and although this form has come too late for them to repeat last season’s top six finish, they will end the campaign in the top half whatever happens here which is no mean feat when you consider the players they have lost.

Huddersfield can also be relatively content with their season in that they are 11 points clear of the drop-zone going into the final day but an unlikely set of events could still see them finish just 1 place above the relegation zone if they lose this. David Wagner will therefore be keen for a bright end to the campaign and 3 points could propel them as high as 15th which would at least look much more creditable. Huddersfield were hammered 4-0 at Bristol City last weekend but had gone 4 matches unbeaten prior to that and they do seem to be quite an unpredictable side.

The Terriers are the clear favourites with the bookies here but you have to question that especially given they’ve taken just 2 points from their last 4 home games. Brentford are in fine form and playing with freedom and the confidence to express themselves right now and they are capable of causing Huddersfield plenty of problems here so consider backing Brentford Draw No Bet at 5/4.
