Tip Reasoning

  • Sheffield United have scored eight goals across their last two matches
  • Hull have failed to win or even score across their last six (L4)
  • Sheffield United have won 11 of their last 19 league clashes with Hull

Blades looking sharp

Sheffield United were expecting a place in the top six this term, but they’re in the bottom six after seven games. However, things are looking up for the Blades after taking five points from their last three matches.

The big issue for the Blades so far has been scoring goals, after they notched only once in their opening five matches. However, in Slavisa Jokanovic they have a manager who likes to play on the front foot and that’s now coming through, having scored eight times across their last two.

Dismal run from Hull

While Sheffield United had a poor start Hull have fallen off after winning their opening game 4-1. Since that win over Preston the Tigers have taken two points from their following since, failing to score in any of those matches.

The Tigers have lost four of those six including defeats to Derby and QPR at home. Given that Hull have only won two of their last 19 league matches against Sheffield United (D6 L11) their awful run of form isn’t likely to improve.

Big opportunity for visitors

Sheffield United look much improved thanks to the arrival of Morgan Gibbs-White, who has scored in both of his league games for the Blades. He’s a star at this level and we’d back him to be central to everything his side does this term, while he’s an excellent goalscorer option for Saturday.

Given how strong the visitors look going forward we’re backing them to overcome a struggling Hull outfit. Back the Tigers to draw another blank having failed to score in all three home matches this term. Sheffield United to win looks like good value, as does a 2-0 correct score prediction.
