Hull vs Burnley Predictions
Both sides were relegated from the top flight last season but are making a strong push for an immediate return. 4th place Hull are 3 points better off than 5th place Burnley as it stands and both clubs will feel relatively comfortable in the play-off zone at the moment although may find it tough to keep up with Middlesbrough and Derby, both of whom are going very well.
Burnley were going through a sticky patch and a bit of a goal drought but both ended with a convincing 4-0 home win against Charlton last time out. Scott Arfield netted twice while strike duo Andre Gray and Sam Vokes were also back on the scoresheet and therefore they will head to Humberside full of confidence.
The same can’t be said of Hull City right now who were looking really good but you have to go back to early November and their 3-0 win against Middlesbrough for the last time they really played well. They’ve lost 4 of their 7 matches since then and were surprisingly beaten 2-0 at relegation threatened Rotherham last time out.
Their two wins in that period were both unconvincing as well. One came via a narrow 1-0 home win against bottom club Bolton, while the other was a 2-1 victory against a Reading side that led for much of the game and only succumbed to a stoppage time winner from Jake Livermore.
Burnley offer a little bit more at both ends of the pitch than those two sides and therefore at 17/20 they look good value to get a result here.
Hull do have an impressive home record but Derby proved only a few weeks ago that they are beatable at the KC Stadium and Burnley were victorious on this ground in May in the Premier League, a result which was a hammer blow to Hull’s survival chances. At 14/1 you can back the Clarets to secure a 2-1 win and their 2nd victory on Humberside in 2015.
