Hungary vs Andorra Predictions
Hungary managed to get off the mark last time out with a 2-0 win in Latvia, putting a run to five winless games which saw them eliminated from Euro 2016 and fail to win either of their first two World Cup qualifiers.
To be fair, they put in a very good showing in France. They got an excellent win against Austria before drawing against Iceland and Portugal to shockingly top the group. They were knocked out by the talented Belgium squad, but it was still an excellent achievement.
Hungary’s goalless draw against Faroe Islands to kick the World Cup qualifying campaign off wasn’t as impressive though, and neither was their 3-2 defeat at home to Switzerland. They will definitely feel confident about getting a win on Sunday though.
This is because Andorra are one of, if not the worst team in this stage of the competition. They have ended their last five European Championship and World Cup qualifying campaigns pointless and look to be heading the same way this year.
So far they have lost to Latvia, Portugal, and Switzerland and conceded eight goals in the process. Their last vaguely positive result was a goalless draw in a friendly against Azerbaijan in the summer, but with that included they have lost 23 and drawn one of their last 24 matches. During this run they have scored just five goals, conceding a ridiculous 67 goals at the other end.
Andorra’s last victory was back in 2004, and away from home they have never managed to win in their 12 year history of competing. They have failed to score in their last ten away days, conceding 35 in the process.
Six of these ten away games have seen them lose by at least three goals, so Hungary could be in for a good night on Sunday. If you’re looking for a goalscorer I’d be tempted by Adam Szalai. The 28 year old Hoffenheim striker has netted three times for Hungary in this campaign and will get no shortage of opportunities on Sunday.
Overall I think it will be a very comfortable evening for Hungary, and backing a Hungary -3.0 Asian Handicap Win at 1.775 looks a very good option. I’m going for a 4-0 correct score prediction at 11/2 as well.
