Draw
Draw 1-1
Tip Reasoning
- Ipswich are unbeaten in their last seven matches
- Both teams have scored in Lincoln’s last five away matches
- Eight of the last nine meetings have been drawn or won by a single goal
Ipswich rock solid under McKenna
The improvement Ipswich have made under Kieran McKenna has been impressive. The Tractor Boys’ season seemed to have been dead in the water when McKenna took over from Paul Cook. Ipswich have lost just two of McKenna’s 13 games in charge and are unbeaten in their last seven matches – they are now just five points off the play-off places and have an outside chance of squeezing into the top six should this good run continue.
Lincoln have the firepower to trouble hosts
Lincoln’s January recruitment caught the eye, and more was expected from them in the second half of the season. The Imps still haven’t fully clicked this season and in truth it has been a disappointing season for them. Lincoln certainly have the firepower to trouble Ipswich, just as they proved on Saturday when they dispatched a bang in form Sheffield Wednesday side. Lincoln haven’t had trouble scoring on their travels recently either, they have scored at least once in each of their last five away matches.
Historically this fixture is normally a close-run affair. Eight of the last nine meetings between these two sides have resulted in draws or single goal margin victories. Whilst Ipswich have been on a good run, they have drawn a fair few games lately, three of their last five matches have ended all-square and I have the feeling this one could go the same way. I fancy this to end in a draw and the correct score prediction will be 1-1.
