Tip Reasoning

Wolves made a bright start to life under Paul Lambert but they come into this game in an awful run of form and suddenly look like their in real danger of relegation. With Ipswich looking solid in recent weeks, the hosts seem the more likely victors here.

Given Wolves have lost all of their last 6 matches, it’s slightly puzzling to see the bookies struggling to decide upon a favourite. The Black Country side are now just one place and one point above the drop-zone and could drop into the bottom three on Tuesday night if things don’t go well here. They have done better away than at home this term, which half explains why the bookies give them a good chance, but they still only average 1.18 points per game on their travels and have suffered 2-1 defeats at Burton and Reading in their most recent away Championship games.

Here they are up against an Ipswich side that is unbeaten in their 6 games since the end of January. While 5 of those 6 games were draws, it should be noted that it was actually quite a tricky run of fixtures and they’ve done incredibly well to avoid defeat. Those 6 games included four against sides currently in the top eight, as well as a trip to a Villa side that was unbeaten at home prior to the Suffolk side’s visit. Ipswich have avoided defeat in 78% of their home games this term too so it’s very hard to see Wolves winning this match in the form they are in.

The Tractor Boys don’t score a huge amount of goals but January signing Emyr Huws has added a goal threat from midfield. He helped himself to his 2nd goal in only his 6th Ipswich start at the weekend and backing Huws to score anytime at 11/2 does look good here.

Given they’ve been drawing against strong sides, it’s not a huge stretch to think Ipswich may have enough to sneak the win against badly out of form opposition. However, their tendency to draw makes backing Ipswich Draw No Bet at 4/5 look more appealing than backing them to win the match in the Full Time Result market.
