Czechs can outperform out-of-sorts Israel

Israel were uninspiring in their Euro 2020 playoff tie with Scotland in midweek, barely laying a glove on Steve Clarke’s men before losing on penalties, and their confidence could have taken a big hit going into their Nations League clash with Czech Republic.

Czech Republic were convincing winners in their first away game of the new Nations League, winning 3-1 in Slovakia, where they won the shot count 21-5 and saw 60 per cent possession.

They also impressed during Euro qualifying, finishing second behind England in their group and winning five of their eight matches, including a victory over the Three Lions.

With the likes of West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek and Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick in the current squad, Czech Republic arguably offer more in the final third than Scotland and with that in mind they are worth backing to prevail.
